This course is aimed at beginner level guitarists who already know the basics.
If you know some open position chords, you can read TAB, and know a few scales, then this course is going to take your playing up a level. If you have been through the Beginner course parts 1 & 2, this is what you need to look at next.
In this course we’ll learn how to play and master barre chords. Barre chords are movable chords that we can play all over the fretboard and once you know them you’ll easily be able to play chords in every key. Along with learning these chords we are going to play songs that focus on making sure we can use and play them properly. Provided with the course are professionally produced backing tracks with some of the finest musicians in the UK giving you the felling of playing in a fantastic band from the comfort of your own home.
Also in this course we’ll look at some basic music theory so you will understand how chords are constructed, making them easier to understand and play. We’ll also take a close look at rhythm allowing you to play more strumming patterns, and more importantly make them up on your own.
We’ll also learn how to pick up songs by ear. This is a skill a lot of people believe you are born with which is true however that is a very small minority of people. As with everything else in music this is a skill that can be learned and developed and it is a fantastic skill to have for any musician.
By the end of this course you’ll be able to play 24 different Major chords, 24 different Minor chords plus Add and Sus chords. You’ll also be able to understand them and be able to use them in songs. This course will massively improve your playing and allow you to play many more of your favourite songs.
